Synopsis: The documentary Unforgettable Homeland Asia Minor is a captivating cinematic journey that narrates the story of Vasiliki Ralli from her exile from Moschonisi in Asia Minor to her search for identity in her new homeland. Simultaneously, it recounts the fate of tens of thousands of Greeks from the Eastern Mediterranean who were forced to leave their homelands and seek a better fate in new and unfamiliar territories in the early 20th century.
Through alternating scenes that embrace both beauty and tragedy, and by highlighting rare and original archival material, Vasiliki Ralli's compelling narrative unravels the thread of her family history. It also provides a profound psychological insight into interwar and post-war Greece.
