The Hellenic History Foundation (IDISME) was established in 2008 with the aim of preserving and documenting the recent history of Hellenism and utilizing historical archives and primary sources.
Our vision is encapsulated in the verse by M. Anagnostakis: "I remember, therefore I exist."
The long and rich intellectual activity of the Greek educational and cultural institutions in our region, particularly the remarkable work of the Greek Philological Society of Constantinople, has been our main source of inspiration.
IDISME's activities include the publication of scientific and literary books, the creation of historical documentaries, and the implementation of educational programs and lectures in schools, institutions, and universities both
within and outside Greece. The objective is to disseminate knowledge to young people, especially students, and to teach lesser known aspects of modern Greek history.
IDISME is engaged in collaborative research with leading research centers and universities in Greece and abroad, with the objective o further expanding its partnerships.
Since 2016, IDISME has been organizing the Beyond Borders | Kastellorizo International Documentary Festival on the remote island of Kastellorizo.
